Profilo d’Artista

Calì nasce a Crotone, discente del padre artista. Delle sua terra ritroviamo nelle opere lo studio del chiaroscuro che si dispiega come la vibrazione luministica delle immagini riflesse sull’acqua. Troviamo il blu oltremare e il cuore oltreterra, che portano indelebile l’impronta dei coloni magno-greci.

Degli studi ingegneristici attesi all’Alma Mater Studiorum di Cosenza conserva il rigore sintattico e morfologico nel perseguire la sua idea di estetica. L’arte come percorso di consapevolezza, la bellezza come ardito atto dovuto.

Agli esordi partecipa a numerose mostre collettive di arte contemporanea, fino alla sua prima personale nel 2019 al Museo del Presente di Rende. Da allora si emancipa dal figurativo e le sue opere, vestite di una nuova prospettiva informale astratta, si possono contemplare in collezioni private e in gallerie d’arte fuori dai confini nazionali. Attualmente vive a Scalea dove lo Studio, in cui avviene la sua produzione artistica, si pone come avamposto in una terra in cui l’infatuazione per la desuetudine sembra prendere il sopravvento, coricata su di un passato gloriosamente ingombrante. Maison Calì come Stupor Mundi federiciano che si disvela e si offre alla complessità della vita moderna, donando una decodifica rivelatoria che va oltre lo spettro del visibile.

Calì was born in Crotone, a disciple of her artist father.
In her work, we find echoes of her native land: the study of chiaroscuro unfolding like the shimmering vibration of light reflected on water. Ultramarine blue, and a overland heart are  marked indelibly with the legacy of the Magna Graecian settlers.

From her engineering studies at the Alma Mater Studiorum of Cosenza, she preserves a syntactic and morphological rigor, which she channels into the pursuit of her own vision of aesthetics.

In her early years, she takes part in numerous group exhibitions of contemporary art, leading to her first solo show in 2019 at the Museo del Presente in Rende. From that moment on, she steps beyond figurative, and her works, now dressed in a new, abstract, informal perspective, begin to appear in private collections and art galleries beyond national borders.

She currently lives in Scalea, where her studio, her place of creation, stands as an outpost in a land where fascination with disuse seems to take hold, reclining on the weighty splendor of a glorious past.

Maison Calì, like a Stupor Mundi of Federician spirit, reveals itself and offers its presence to the complexities of modern life, gifting a revelatory decoding that reaches beyond the spectrum of the visible.
